Good Omens

Crowley

All Better by Shati

'Good was like Evil, only different.' A particularly dark coda to the book: all too believable

[Added 21/03/2006; Drama; 1000-2500; Good Omens; Characters: Crowley, Aziraphale, Metatron]

City of Angels by afrai

'Ironic, you know, that Change will be one of the things that do not change. Brilliant work. Brilliant.' A unique view of creation, featuring lovely portraits of our favourite angel & demon before all that Sauntering-Vaguely-Downwards stuff

[Added 21/03/2006; Drama; 2500-6000; Good Omens; Characters: Crowley, Aziraphale]

Compromising Positions by Vulgarweed

'Hail Gaius Caesar, son of Germanicus. There’s just no competing with him, so I intend to enjoy my redundancy.' A little Saturnalia pre-Arrangement arrangement results in delicious geek porn: literate, funny & hot in equal measures

[Added 21/03/2006; Romance/Erotica; 2500-6000; Good Omens; Characters: Crowley, Aziraphale; Adult]

Da Capo Aria by Lady Oneiros

'I like the stars the best. They are always ready to die, and they never say a word.' An unusual story with a deft mixture of humour & pathos, plus a host of delightful cameos, as Aziraphale becomes Death for the day

[Added 26/04/2007; Drama; 6000-20,000; Good Omens; Characters: Aziraphale, God, Death, Crowley, Pestilence, Lucifer, Beelzebub]

East of Eden by Shati

'"Our mum said no talking to serpents," said Cain. "She said serpents was evil liars."' Some passages in the Bible just seem to cry out for GO treatment. Shati's version of events is ever so plausible

[Added 27/07/2005; Drama; 2500-6000; Good Omens; Characters: Crowley, Aziraphale, Biblical]

Heavenly Visitation by Daegaer

'He’d been praying for a sign, yes, that was true but he’d never actually expected to get one.' Thou-Shalt-Not-Commit-Adultery Pulsifer encounters an angel; black humour ensues

[Added 21/03/2006; Humour; 1000-2500; Good Omens; Characters: Crowley, Thou-Shalt-Not-Commit-Adultery Pulsifer]

Intent by Honey

'Paul (formerly Saul, Rome's favorite persecutor of Christians, women, homosexuals, and people they just didn't like) was now a full time Christian missionary, as well as a part time sidewalk preacher, miracle worker, and, if he'd had enough wine, interpretive dancer.' One of the neatest things about GO fanfiction is the liberty to re-envisage tricky parts of the Bible, and Honey's picked a winner here. Highly amusing

[Added 27/07/2005; Drama; 2500-6000; Good Omens; Characters: Crowley, Aziraphale, Biblical]

It Came Upon A Midnight Clear by Daegaer

'What bit of "Fear not" was unclear?' Aziraphale & Crowley team up over the birth of an earlier supernatural being. Nicely in tune with canon, with precise details & some hilarious touches. Probably my favourite amongst Daegaer's prolific & varied GO output

[Added 22/07/2005; Drama; 2500-6000; Good Omens; Characters: Crowley, Aziraphale, Biblical]

Like Angels in Heaven by Daegaer

A disturbing story set in 1930s Singapore which reveals a darker side to the Arrangement. Little humour, but the subtle characterisations & strong dialogue make up for it

[Added 26/07/2005; Drama; 2500-6000; Good Omens; Characters: Crowley, Aziraphale]

Managing Trouble by Sarahsan

'Manual labor, Crawly quickly discovered, was not really his speed.' A lovely character study of Crowley, as he oversees a key moment in early human history

[Added 03/09/2009; Drama; 2500-6000; Good Omens; Characters: Crowley, War, Death]

The Sacred and the Profane by afrai

I won't spoil the premise, but this well-written AU novella examines a very dark possibility for another way that events might have panned out. The alternative Crowley is a particular delight. Highly recommended

[Added 26/07/2005; Drama; 20,000-50,000; Good Omens; Characters: Crowley, Aziraphale, Adam Young, Anathema Device, Newton Pulsifer, Pepper, Wensleydale, Brian, Horsepersons, Hastur, Ligur]

Slouching, Forever by Torch

'"He chose, well, this." Aziraphale gestured airily around the field, leading with the wrist and somehow managing to include all of Tadfield.' Torch specialises in shorts that seem to be going one way and then take a left; this is one of them

[Added 03/09/2009; Drama; <1000; Good Omens; Characters: Aziraphale, Crowley, Adam, Brian, Pepper, Wensleydale]
